Meat

Beef carpaccio

In pregnancy: Never While breastfeeding: Safe

Rare, but serious if it happens

Why

Thinly sliced raw meat: toxoplasmosis. Avoid, even if 'high quality'.

It changes after the birth

You can eat this again while breastfeeding: the pregnancy-specific risks (listeria, toxoplasmosis, salmonella) no longer apply after birth. Keep normal food hygiene.

Instead

  • Well-done roast beef
  • Well-done sliced steak
  • Roast turkey
